Choosing to Notice the Magic Around Us 🌙✨

Some days it feels like magic is in everything.
The sky breaks open into a watercolor masterpiece.
Your favorite song randomly plays when you need it most.
You cross paths with an old friend, just when your heart was heavy.
A stranger says something that lands like medicine.
Your body breathes, your dog looks at you like you're their entire universe, and the air smells like potential. 💫
And other days… the world feels flat. Your routine is mechanical. Your joy is muted. Your phone battery’s low - and so is your spirit. 😮💨
But here's the truth I’ve been learning, slowly, gently, and with lots of reminders:
Magic doesn’t disappear.
We just stop noticing.
And we can choose to start noticing again - on purpose.
The Myth That Magic Has to Be Big ✨🌪️
So many of us grow up associating “magic” with huge moments:
Falling in love
Landing the dream job
The perfect vacation
The glow-up transformation montage (cue the background music 🎶)
And when life feels quieter - or harder - we assume something’s missing.
But what if the real magic lives in the ordinary?
What if it’s woven into the smallest pauses of your day?
🌅 The way light hits your coffee mug in the morning
🌬️ The coolness of your sheets as you slide into bed
🌼 The first flower you see bloom after a long winter
🐦 The birds that still sing, even on chaotic days
This isn’t denial of hard things.
It’s choosing to anchor yourself in beauty while you move through them.
Why We Stop Noticing (and How to Start Again) 🧠💡
Let’s be honest - most of us are living in high-alert mode.
Notifications.
Appointments.
Caretaking.
Hustling.
We’re juggling so much that the now becomes background noise.
We stop noticing the magic when:
We’re stuck in survival
We’re numbing out
We’re fixated on what we lack
We’re waiting for things to be “better” before we let ourselves feel awe
But magic isn’t something we earn. It’s something we remember. It’s already here — in this moment, this breath, this heartbeat.
Practices to Reawaken the Magic Around You 🌈🔍
1. Start a “Small Joy” Journal 📓Each night, write down 3 little things that brought you joy, peace, or wonder. Even if it’s just “my tea was the perfect temperature” or “the sky looked purple at 8:14 PM.”
2. Take 60-Second Awe Breaks ⏱️Pause and let your eyes rest on something beautiful - a tree, a candle, a painting. Let it move you. Let it land.
3. Use Your Senses Intentionally 🌺🎧🖐️
Smell something calming (essential oils, coffee, rain)
Feel texture (blankets, bark, soft clothes)
Listen to music that makes your heart swellMagic lives in how we experience the world, not just what’s in it.
4. Let Synchronicity Speak 🔮If something odd-but-meaningful happens (you think of someone and they text, you see repeating numbers, etc.), don’t brush it off. Smile. Say thank you. Lean into the idea that life is collaborating with you.
What If You Made Magic Part of Your Identity? 🧙♀️💖
What if you stopped looking for proof of magic…and started being the proof of magic?
You - the woman who speaks gently to herself
You - the healer, the dreamer, the grounded rebel
You - who turns her home into a sanctuary, her routines into rituals, and her mornings into love notes to herself
You noticing magic creates more of it.Your presence amplifies the sacred. That’s your power. That’s your essence.
💫 A Prompt for Your Soul:
Where in your life have you stopped noticing the magic - and how might you begin again, one gentle breath at a time?
🌟 Final Whisper:
Life won’t always be soft. Some seasons will break you open. But magic doesn’t leave when things get hard - it just whispers instead of shouting.
It shows up in quiet glances, in tiny nudges, in the sparkle of ordinary things.
You are not too busy to notice.
You are not too far gone to feel wonder.
You are not out of touch with the sacred.
You’re just one deep breath away from coming back home to it. 💛
Keep choosing magic. Keep choosing yourself.
